If you want to visit Qatar's capital of Doha, the Museum of Islamic Art is one of the best places to embrace the culture. I recommend taking a more unconventional route and photographing the exterior of the museum, rather than the interior. This dreamy waterfront perspective allows you to capture the turquoise water and the dynamic architecture of MIA.

This image of the waterfront and exterior of the Museum of Islamic Art was taken on the pathway of MIA park. This public museum is easy to access and can be reached by public transportation (via Fishing Port; 76) or by car.
If you're driving, I recommend parking in the MIA Parking lot (25.293013, 51.541027). There is an ample amount of free parking that's available for those with cars under the MIA and in the MIA park, which is next to MIA.
There are also complimentary golf carts that will shuttle visitors from and around the MIA park to MIA.
Reference the GPS coordinates and you'll see this northwest-facing view of the museum from MIA Park.
Tips
When to go
Best season
All months
Best time
Mid-day, Late afternoon
The exterior waterfront view of the Museum of Islamic Art can be photographed regardless of the month.
To find similar lighting conditions, I recommend midday or late afternoon when there are more shadows and the water is beautifully lit.
Field tips
By using a telephoto lens, you'll be able to bring in the details of the Museum of Islamic Art across the water.
There will be some boats that are parked around the corniche. You can capture them to make the picture more interesting as I did with my photo.
Having some shadows on the architecture is a key element of the composition. It'll make create depth and dimension and make the photo not as flat.
Make sure to center yourself with the architecture so you can create a sense of symmetry.
