This little-known gem of a lake around the iconic Mount Hood is quickly growing in popularity — and for good reason! Reflected off the incredible, glassy water is one of the best views of Oregon's most famous volcano. Only 45 minutes away from the Hood River, this serene lake also offers camping without motor boat access, allowing for a peaceful getaway in nature.

This photo of Mount Hood and Lost Lake was taken from the north end of the lake. To access this spot, park in the Lost Lake North Viewpoint parking lot by the Lakeshore Trailhead, and you'll see this incredible view of Mount Hood as you make your way towards the lake. You can also find great views along Lakeshore Trail #656. Directions: - From OR-281 S (Dee Highway) - Take OR-281 S (Dee Highway) to the Lost Lake Rd exit, and turn left onto Lost Lake Rd - Stay on Lost Lake Rd/NF-13 for about 13 miles - Slight right onto N F Dev Rd 1340 - Turn right onto North Rd - Pass the Lost Lake Resort and turn left to stay on North Rd - The road will dead end at the Lost Lake North Viewpoint/Lakeshore Trailhead parking lot
