Located in an awe-inspiring coastal setting just north of iconic Cannon Beach, this easily-accessible parking area offers spectacular views of Oregon's most famous rock formation. The surrounding state park contains miles of scenic hiking trails that are rich with history, too. Spend a perfect day enjoying the ancient fir forests and following in the footsteps of American pioneers Lewis and Clark.

I took this photo right outside the Ecola Point Day-Use Area parking lot (45.919457, -123.974165) near the Ecola Point Picnic Area. The easiest way to get to this location is by driving.
Directly off of Highway 101, take exit N Alt Rte Route Hwy 101/Fir St. Turn right onto E 5th St, then take a slight right onto Ecola State Park Rd for 1.5 miles until you reach the fee station. Turn left onto Ecola Park Rd after passing through the fee station and then head to the Ecola Point Day-Use Area parking lot.
From the southwest corner of the parking lot, take the trail heading south towards the coast. Reference the GPS coordinates to find the exact spot where I stood. Then, stand facing south to capture this perspective of Cannon Beach, Bird Rocks and Haystack Rock.
