How to get there

This photo of Mount Fuji was taken in front of Lake Kawaguchiko (河口湖). Among the Fuji Five Lakes, Kawaguchiko is the most accessible one as it has direct bus and train connections from Tokyo. In my opinion, the most convenient way to get there is by taking the Yamanakako Asahigaoka bus from the Shinjuku Bus Terminal. It is only 2,000 yen (about $15 USD) one-way and it takes you directly to Kawaguchiko Station. From Kawaguchiko Station, you will need to take a local bus to get to this photoshoot location/hotel area. You can take Kawaguchiko Station-Natural Living Center Bus and get off at Kawaguchiko-orugorunomori. If you plan to shoot at this exact location during sunrise, it is best to book a hotel nearby and walk there directly as buses are not active at such early hours. There are many hotels that you can choose from. This particular location is right in front of the "Boat House Hawaii" or the "Komaya Ryokan." You will see a parking lot right between the spot and Komaya Ryokan. Reference the GPS coordinates and you'll be good to go.
