Dewasanzan means "three mountains of Dewa," and refers to three sacred mountain peaks, each of which has a shrine near the summit. What makes the mountains so mystical is how remote they are. You'll pass through the entrance gate of the shrine to discover the sacred area, which is home to 2,446 steps that ascend into a thick, moss-covered forest. If you feel as if a force greater than you is beckoning you closer, give into it and forge ahead.
