City of stars, are you shining just for me? Featured in La La Land, Griffith Park is a must-see for anyone’s first visit to the city. Sparkling city lights, beautiful nature, floating clouds, and of course, the majestic Griffith Observatory are all there to showcase LA’s powerful energy.

This public observatory and museum is located in luscious Griffith Park. This is my favorite angle to view the Griffith Observatory, which I found while hiking up Mt. Hollywood Trail beginning at Charlie Turner Trailhead. Chances are it will be packed with tourists/hikers when you arrive at the main parking lot, so if you can't find a spot there, try to park anywhere on W Observatory Rd or Western Canyon Rd. From start of the hike, it should take 40 minutes walking on the main trail or just 20 minutes if you can handle the more aggressive short-cut trail that you'll see on Maps. This requires both hands and some steeper climbing, but doable! You may want to step off trail for a different elevation, but this photo can be taken on the trail with level ground.
