Even if there were actually 1,000 steps leading to Thousand Steps Sea Beach, the hike would be worth it. Hidden away from the hustle and bustle of Laguna Beach, this beautifully carved-out cave is the result of years of natural erosion. A perfect spot to listen to the waves crashing against the bluffs and connect with nature.

This location is the Thousand Steps Sea Cave on Thousand Steps Beach.
The stairs to the beach are on the intersection of Pacific Coast Highway and 9th Avenue. Either find parking on Pacific Coast Highway or in the neighborhoods east of the main highway.
Walk down the stairs (don't be alarmed by the name, there's only around 250 stairs, not 1,000!). When you get to the beach, make a left and head south for approximately a 10min walk. Be sure to check the tide because access to the cave is only easy at low tide. During high tide the waves will be crashing against the entrance and it's very dangerous to get inside.
There's lifeguards during summer months and during their shift (9am-5pm) they will not allow you to access the cave.
