Towering above this pastoral scene is Mount Rainier — the crown jewel of Washington State. This easily-accessible roadside spot offers fantastic views of the snow-capped volcano, reflected in the glassy water of a stunning alpine lake.

This photo of Tipsoo Lake and Mount Rainier was photographed from an easily-accessible spot directly off Highway 410. To get here, drive along Highway 410 E until you reach the GPS coordinate. You'll see a gap in the tree line that opens up to the lake.
Park along the roadside in the designated parking areas. I took this photo facing west towards Tipsoo Lake and Mount Rainier.
Please be cautious of road closures along Highway 410. The Chinook Pass usually closes seasonally during the winter, from mid-November to Memorial Day. Check your GPS before you go to ensure the roads are open.
