Tipsoo Lake and the surrounding Chinook Pass is a wildlife enthusiast's dream — the smooth, glass-like surface reflects an imposing view of Mount Rainier, while summertime wildflowers extend in every direction as far as the eye can see. Take a walk around the lake to discover these lush, unique plants that make excellent subjects for nature photography.

This photo of foliage was taken along the trail that surrounds Tipsoo Lake. To get here, navigate to the main Tipsoo Lake parking lot (46.869837, -121.519827). After parking, walk east towards the lake and follow the Tipsoo Lake Loop trail, which is a quick but beautiful 1 mile walk around the lake. At the northeast area of the lake, there are tons of these plants that grow along the main trail to photograph.
