Spirit Falls is one of the best looking (and most photogenic) waterfalls in the Pacific Northwest — if not the world. The free-flowing turquoise water is sure to leave a lasting impression and when the conditions are right, it's almost impossible to take a bad photo here.

This image was taken standing near the edge of an overlook at Spirit Falls.
On the Washington side of the Columbia River Gorge, drive out to Cook Underwood Road and park at the Spirit Falls Trailhead (45.725697, -121.638868). Be careful as people often accidentally park on private property and the owner does not appreciate it. From the trailhead, the hike is a VERY steep 1/2+ mile adventure.
Walk up to the clearing by the right side of the road and you'll find a trail that leads down the scree. Follow it for about a 1,000 feet before it turns to the left. It's pretty much a straight shot down from there. Carefully follow the trail until you arrive at Spirit Falls and make sure to use the GPS to guide you.
Also, please note that this area of Spirit Falls is not along the official trail and it isn't maintained. It's very steep and can be dangerous if you are in a rush, so proceed with cautious as you embark on this journey.
