Spiral Staircase at Mondrian Doha Hotel

The Mondrian Doha is an easily accessible hotel that's just off of the Lusail Expressway. If you don't have a car of your own, my recommendation is to take a cab to the hotel. Once inside, make a left from the main entrance and then you'll see the huge spiral staircase. Head up to the top of the stairs and then look down for this perspective. The Mondrian Doha can be visited during any month of the year. Since it's indoors, the view of the spiral staircase will not be affected by the seasons.

The hotel is quite dark, so visiting during midday will allow opportunity for the most light to come through.

This perspective won't be able to be captured unless you go all the way up to the staircase and then look down for this view. You can play around with taking photos from different areas, but in my opinion, it looks best for the very top.

One of the best composition tips I can give for this image is to frame the center of the staircase in the middle thirds of your frame so the photo is well balanced.

Due to the darker lighting conditions, you may want to reduce your ISO to avoid grain.

If you want to add a focal point to your image, bring along a friend and have them stand in the middle of the staircase.

After exploring the hotel, grab a bite to eat at one of the many restaurants that are within walking distance of this photo location. Some of the most popular are Walima and Morimoto Doha. There are also some cocktail bars in the area, like Smoke & Mirrors and Hudson Tavern.
