When to go
Best time
Morning, Mid-day, Late afternoon
Indoor photography allows for flexibility in terms of seasonality. For this photo of the spiral staircase in the Mondrian Doha, any month works because it's not a weather-permitting shot!
You can achieve this image during any time of the day, but morning light allowed for the lobby floor to be bright white. The lobby is lit, so if you are here after daylight, you'll have no problem taking well-lit images.
Field tips
Please be polite to hotel staff and only pull out your camera the very moment you are about to photograph.
Proceed with caution as you lean over the balcony and make sure you have a secure camera strap so your camera doesn't fall.
It's crucial to climb all the way to the top of the stairs just before the platform in order to emphasize the spiral architecture.
I think it looks best to have your focal point in the center of your shot so your subject is sharp and visible, drawing the eye to the middle of the frame.
A bright colored shirt on your model always pops nicely! Suggest that your model dresses in bright clothing for an even more noticeable subject.

Do nearby
Don't miss out on visiting the pool on the rooftop level near the fitness center. It's insanely beautiful, with some of the most unique tile work I've ever seen! It's definitely a photogenic place to experiment with shapes and textures with more of the triangular-shaped window design.
