Field tips
If you want to photograph people, it's best to ask their permission before doing so.
The Souq Waqif market is a really good place for street photography, so bring out that 35 or 50mm focal lens and start firing away! These focal lengths help you shoot true to scale.
Evoke a sense of symmetry by standing in the middle of the alleyway. This will also create a more balanced photo.
Be patient until something interesting passes into the frame—or, bring a model!

Souq Waqif is in Doha, just south of the Pearl Monument. From the main entrance, there are many alleys and streets full of vendors. This place is a giant traditional open-air market, so bring comfortable shoes to walk around in and bring your appetite, too, because there's a lot of good food in the area.
