Capturing a bird as it elegantly flies into this scene makes this image of the Souq Waqif Well even that much more enchanting. The amber glow that emanates from the waterhole complements the sky during blue hour, and with the Abdullah Bin Zaid Al Mahmoud Islamic Cultural Center in the back, this viewpoint creates an aesthetically-pleasing composition.

This image was taken in front of Old Well, with a view of the Abdullah Bin Zaid Al Mahmoud Islamic Cultural Center.
The easiest way to get here is by taking a car or a cab to Souq Waqif. Alternatively, you can also take public transportation to reach Souq Waqif. On the Gold Line, get off at the stop "Souq Waqif".
Once you're in the area, reference the GPS coordinates to get to the waterhole called Old Well.

Blue Hour
I prefer photographing the well at Souq Waqif in December when the weather is cooler, but you can snap a similar shot during any time of year—just be prepared for the weather!
I wanted to capture the transition of day to night, so I took this photo at the onset of Blue Hour. The blue and yellow hues of the scene complement each other so well!
Field tips
I recommend getting close to the well and then using a wide-angle lens to broaden the frame (16mm). This way, you can still capture the detail of the well, while also featuring the buildings in the background.
Try to keep the photo balanced by putting the well on the left third of the frame and the tower on the right third.
A tripod will be useful when using long exposure to photograph the moving water.
I think it's best to use a slow shutter speed to get the water an ultra smooth look.
