Weaved Concrete Wall near Msheireb Mosque Look Up

This image of the wall was taken at Msheireb Mosque in Doha. You can either drive, take public transportation or hire a driver to get you to this location. If you're taking public transit, this spot will be equidistant from the Msheireb (Gold, Green or Red line) and Souq Waqif (Gold line) stops. Make your way toward the mosque on foot and then turn left away from the fountain in front of the mosque. From there, you'll find the intricate wall structure. Reference the GPS coordinates and you'll see the exact location where I stood to get this shot.

My preferred months to visit are November, December and January when there are less people and the weather isn't as hot, but regardless of the time of year, you can photograph a similar view of the wall at Msheireb Mosque during any month.

In the early morning you could have the potential to capture some really interesting lighting conditions. In the midday and late afternoon, the scene will also be well lit and ready to be photographed!

Without a wide-angle lens (24mm), you won't be able to photograph the entirety of the wall.

One of the best composition tips for this spot is to get low and then look directly up so you're able to capture the varying levels within the architecture.

I also think it looks best to get as close as you can to the wall. Doing this will not only give you the best perspective of the design, it'll also enhance the size of the structure.

There are countless restaurants, shopping areas and museums in close proximity to the mosque.

You're also within walking distance to the famous artisan market, Souq Waqif. Pick up some local spice blends or shop around for handmade clothing items.
