How to get there

This image of the lobby was taken inside the Marsa Malaz Kempinski hotel, which is on the manmade island of The Pearl in Doha. You can visit this area without being a guest of the hotel, but while you're there, please be respectful of those staying at the hotel. The best way to get there is by a car since the hotel is on an islet. Once you're inside, walk through the main lobby and head toward the elevators next to the Jazz lounge. This lobby view will be right in the middle of the hallway. You can also reference the GPS coordinates to get to this specific spot. For more information, check out the hotel's website: www.kempinski.com/en/doha/marsa-malaz-kempinski-the-pearl-doha/hotel-location

Tips

When to go

Best season

All months

Best time

Morning, Mid-day, Late afternoon, Sunset, Night, Midnight+
Since the lobby of the Marsa Malaz Kempinski is indoors, you can take photos during any month of the year.
You can find similar conditions day or night. To have a better chance at photographing an empty lobby, I recommend early morning or late night.

Field tips

Framing is important here because you want the architecture to be the star of the photo. Pay attention to how you're framing the archways. I think an angles perspective is best so you can frame different aspects of the interior, highlighting the architecture.
Having the chairs in the foreground will create some depth and dimension to your photo.
Get creative and don't limit yourself to this one viewpoint. If you look up, you'll see the layers of floor levels can make for a unique shot.
You may be asked to put it away, but since the lighting is low in this setting, it could be worth it to bring along a tripod.

Do nearby

The Pearl is full of amazing restaurants! Sabah W Masa, which is Lebanese food, and Toro Toro Doha, which is Latin American food, are both awesome choices if you're looking for something to eat.
