Heenat Salma Farm

This image was taken on the north side of Heenat Salma Farm. The best way to get to this remote location is by car. When you get to the property, drive down the main road and find parking in the area near the check-in. Then, take the path that passes by the five green houses. Head to the other side of the tree line. From there, you'll see a building they call Majlis, which is central to the farm and surrounded by gardens, sidr trees and the lodging/tent area. This space houses a wellness treatment room, a library, an outdoor terrace for relaxation and a lap pool. Reference the GPS coordinates and you'll see the exact spot where I stood for this perspective of the outdoor area.

I visited the Heenat Salma Farm in December to get nice shots of the landscape. You can visit the farm year-round and in the spring months, you'll have a better chance of interacting with more Qatari people.

I can't envision a time of the day not being beautiful at this place! For similar lighting conditions to the ones I had, I recommend taking photos during the day.

Respect the locals by keeping your camera away until you start taking photos. It's an amazing spot for candid portraits, but be polite and courteous when taking pictures of people. Always respect people's privacy.

A wide-angle lens will work best here so you can frame the surrounding environment. There is a lot happening at this farm.

Align yourself with one of the legs of the structure so you have a sense of symmetry.

Bring along a friend and take some lifestyle shots. When the wind hits, you can catch some interesting movement with flowy clothing.

The best part about this location is that it's in the middle of nowhere, giving you the chance to relax and unplug. Walk around the grounds and explore the different areas, both indoor and outdoor.
