Heceta Head Lighthouse & the Pacific Ocean

avatar
@rossschram
Accented by vibrant red roofing, this lighthouse is one of the most photogenic, and easily accessible, along the Oregon coast. Walk along the stretch of pristine beach, have a meal at the adjacent Bed and Breakfast or take in the ocean view from the lighthouse. Whatever you decide to do here, you're guaranteed to get standout images.

This image was taken of the Heceta Head Lighthouse, with a view of the Pacific Ocean. The trail to the lighthouse starts at the northern part of the parking lot (44.135203, -124.122938). From the trail, it will be about a one-mile walk. You should also expect a slight change in elevation. Once you have reached the lighthouse, you'll want to continue up the trail a bit further (a one or two-minute walk) until you reach a vantage point looking back out towards the ocean and the lighthouse. You'll then be above the lighthouse as you're looking down and out with the ocean as your backdrop. Reference the GPS coordinates to see where I stood to get this perspective.
