This image was taken on the Pacific City Beach, looking onto Chief Kiawanda Rock and a surfer along the shore.
From Portland, follow US-26 W, OR-6 W and US-101 S to Sandlake Rd in Tillamook County and then continue on Sandlake Rd to your destination in Pacific City. Park in the parking lot next to Pelican Brewing – Pacific City (45.215474, -123.970787) and then head down to the beach.
Reference the GPS to see exactly where I stood to get this view of the rock and ocean. I prefer walking on the beach, but if your car has 4WD or AWD, you're also allowed to drive on the beach.
