This photo of Willamette National Park's Koosah Falls was taken just down the river from the Koosah Falls parking area, on a log in the McKenzie River. This location is easily accessible by car.
To get here, travel east on Highway 126 to Carmen Reservoir. Just north off of the turnoff to Carmen Reservoir, turn left at the Ice Cap Campground/Koosah Falls sign to access Koosah Falls parking area. From the parking area, follow the trail east until you reach the McKenzie River. The logs are located downriver from the waterfall. Reference the GPS coordinates to get to the exact location where I stood to capture this image.
If you, or a model, decide to walk out on the logs, please be extremely careful and follow common sense safety precautions. The area is quite wet and slippery — I had rope just in case and a friend there to help.
