3 Chōme Shimoyoshida might not at all sound familiar, but you've probably seen a similar alleyway photo from here before. It offers one of the most interesting perspectives of Mount Fuji, especially at sunrise. The morning light hits the mountain and elicits a reddish-pink glow, which is known as "Red Fuji."

This alleyway view of Mount Fuji was taken from the 3 Chōme Shimoyoshida area of Yamanashi (Keep in mind that the Japanese addressing system mostly uses district names instead of street names). You can easily walk there if you're staying in Fujiyoshida, or take public transport.
The nearest public transport station is called Gekkouji Station. Take Fujikyuko Line to Gekkouji Station and then head east toward 3 Chōme Shimoyoshida by turning left at this intersection (35.492756, 138.798812). Follow the path around the cemetery and cross the Iriyama River. Once you've crossed the river, make your third right.
This will take you to 3 Chōme and you will be a short walk away from the GPS coordinates. Reference the GPS coordinates and you'll see exactly where I stood to get this south-facing view of Mount Fuji.
