Prehistoric-looking rock juts out of the earth like shards of glass, towering 3,000 meters above sea level. While this view may seem like it took hours of trekking to reach, this awe-inspiring mountain panorama is easily accessible from a very short walk from a trailhead parking lot, making it the perfect place for any type of hiker.

This photo of the Cadini Group mountain range was taken from just beyond Cappella degli Alpini, a small church along the Tre Cime di Lavaredo loop trail.
To get here, you'll need a car. Navigate to Parcheggio Tre Cime Lavaredo (46.613229, 12.295698) and park in one of the many parking spots. The hike is a large loop around the three peaks, so you can begin, either by hiking east from Rifugio Auronzo, or hiking the loop beginning from the west side of the parking lots.
This location is extremely close to the Rifugio Auronzo entrance right at the beginning of the hike, so I recommend starting there. From the parking lot, continue around Rifugio Auronzo and begin walking with the rest of the crowd along the wide, clearly marked trail (#101).
Continue along the path until you reach a little white church. This is Cappella degli Alpini, where may visitors stop to take their first photos along the hike. Head slightly past the church, referencing the GPS coordinates to find the place I stood to take this photo. Turn back towards the direction that you came and zoom in on the Cadini Group, the jagged mountain peaks closest to Tre Cime di Lavaredo. You can't miss them!
This location is about a 15 minute walk from the parking lot.
