Tips
When to go
Best season

Best time
Night
Visit any month of year as this tram station and Des Voeux Road Central are always busy.
The passing traffic on both sides of the tram station makes this location perfect for light trails, so visit at night during rush hour. The tram stops running at 11pm so be there well before then to prepare for your shot! If you go after rush hour you may have to wait a while to capture the desired light trails.
Field tips
Be careful! For this photograph you’ll be standing in between traffic.
There are two tram stations on this street and you can photograph from either side of them. Take some time to find the composition you desire!
For strong light trails be sure to use a tripod and try dropping the shutter speed to 10-15 seconds.
Timing is key to get a bus and a tram moving past at the same time. Be patient and come well before 11pm (when the tram stops running)!
If you take multiple exposures you can stack them in post-processing. This will help accentuate the light trails while keeping your model in crisp focus.

Check out M-Bar for great cocktails. It's on the 25th floor of the Mandarin Oriental.
It's also worth checking out J. Boroski — an innovative and enigmatic speakeasy. It’s secluded on Ezra's Ln, Central, Hong Kong.
