Although this beach isn't the best for swimming, it stands out as perfect location to relax, take in coastal and island views and capture a one-of-a-kind shot.

The image was taken at the Makapu'u Tide Pools tree, with a north-facing view of Rabbit Island. This spot is across from Sea Life Park, next to a small parking lot by Kaupo Bay (21.316032, -157.664501).
If you're coming from the south side of Oahu, you'll pass Makapu'u Beach Park before turning right into this parking lot. If you're coming from the east side, pass Makai Research Pier, as well as the little beach, before taking a left into the parking lot.
Once you turn into the parking lot, go right and then reference the GPS coordinates to find the single tree where I took this photo.
Do not leave valuables in sight in the car and this area can be known for theft.
