Kahala Beach Palm Tree Island

avatar
@vincelimphoto
If this secluded island with two, prominent palm trees doesn't get you to visit this location, then the privacy of Kahala Beach at sunrise will. The breathtaking colors light up the early-morning sky and from across the water, you have the perfect vantage point for an unobstructed view — a real rarity in Honolulu!

This photo of the palm tree island was taken from Kahala Beach. To get here, park at the Waialae Beach Park parking lot (21.270140, -157.777566), which is directly off Kahala Ave. Note: the parking lot will open at 6AM. Walk down to the beach, and then head left down the beach until you've reached the Kahala Hotel. Continue to walk toward the water and then reference the GPS coordinates to see exactly where I stood for this perspective of the island. Directions from Waikiki: - Head southeast on I-H-1 E - Take exit 26B to merge onto Waialae Ave toward Waialae-Kahala Business Dist - Turn right onto Kilauea Ave - Turn left onto Makaiwa St - Turn left at the 1st cross street onto Moho St - Turn right onto Kealaolu Ave - Turn left onto Kahala Ave - The Waialae Beach Park parking lot will be on your right
