Through the hills and forest of Geroldsee, capture Germany's tallest mountain as the glowing sun sets behind its massive peak. This mountain is well known, but this perspective is slightly less common — providing you with a dream-like scene in a secluded area.

The image was taken from Geroldsee in Krün, looking west onto the Zugspitze Mountain. The only way to access this location is by car.
After parking in Gerold alongside the main road, which is called In Gerold, follow the trail that leads toward Geroldsee. Once you're level with the small cabins to the left of you, hike up the hill for around 10 minutes to elevate your view above the trees.
Reference the GPS coordinates to get where I stood for this shot and look west to see the Zugspitze in the distance.
