As if straight out of a postcard, this Bavarian lake has small, tree-covered islands on top of the crystal-clear waters that add a touch of rustic charm from a land seeming untouchable.

The image was taken in front of a cliff along Lake Eibsee with a view of the Sasseninsel and Steinbühl islands and Zugspitze mountain in the background. Reference the following GPS coordinates to guide you along the path. It will take you about 20 minutes to complete the trail hike from the parking lot.
Start by parking at the lot of the Eibsee-Hotel (47.457736, 10.991698) then head south on Am Eibsee toward Eibseestraße. Once you reach Eibseestraße, take a left. Follow the path toward Eibsee Runwig (go over the bridge) and then continue along to the final spot where I stood (47.460480, 10.980135) to get this view of the lake, island and mountain.
