Shanghai InterContinental Wonderland

This is a drone image of the Shanghai InterContinental Wonderland. When you launch your drone, make sure to stand on the outside of the hotel grounds because it's a private property and they'll ask you for room identification if you're on their land. Reference the GPS coordinates from where I stood and then launch your drone directly up over the hotel to get a similar perspective. By public transportation: - Closest station: Dongjing Station (via Metro Line 9) - Take a taxi (18 min drive) to Shanghai InterContinental Wonderland and then walk to the GPS coordinates on the outskirts of the property

Because it's a night shot without any visible landscape, you can photograph the Shanghai InterContinental Wonderland during any month.

The building lights will be illuminated once the sun goes down. During the day, you can still capture an aerial perspective, but it won't be as visually impactful without the nighttime lights on.

Before flying a drone, check and follow local drone regulations and permit requirements.

Try not to fly too high or else you'll run the risk of losing some of the detailing in the building's architecture.

Make sure to center the building in your shot. To align your drone nicely, use the middle of the hotel (where the blue and vertical lines are) to create a sense of symmetry.

I set my shutterspeed at 2 seconds so I could bring out the distinctness of the building's lighting. Experiment with your own long exposure settings

Fly around the property to capture different perspectives of the hotel.
