When to go
Best time
Night, Midnight+
Because it's a night shot without any visible landscape, you can photograph the Shanghai InterContinental Wonderland during any month.
The building lights will be illuminated once the sun goes down. During the day, you can still capture an aerial perspective, but it won't be as visually impactful without the nighttime lights on.
Field tips
Before flying a drone, check and follow local drone regulations and permit requirements.
Try not to fly too high or else you'll run the risk of losing some of the detailing in the building's architecture.
Make sure to center the building in your shot. To align your drone nicely, use the middle of the hotel (where the blue and vertical lines are) to create a sense of symmetry.
I set my shutterspeed at 2 seconds so I could bring out the distinctness of the building's lighting. Experiment with your own long exposure settings
Fly around the property to capture different perspectives of the hotel.

If you're staying in the area overnight, check out the hotel. The state-of-the-art rooms feature high ceilings and stylish decor, while the lobby's lounge has an industrial-chic feel that's perfect for grabbing a coffee with friends. From the cocktail bar, you'll have incredible views of the quarry.
