This college library, named after Theodor Geisel (better known as Dr. Seuss), is an iconic part of the UCSD campus. The distinctive Brutalist style of architecture makes this location an unexpected place to experiment with symmetry and shapes that pop against the clear blue sky.

This image of the architectural detail of the Geisel Library was taken on the campus of University of California San Diego, which is in La Jolla.
I stood on the west side of the building and then faced east along the pedestrian walkway to get this perspective.
To get here, I recommend driving. Park in one of the nearby lots — the closest is Hopkins Parking Structure (32.883973, -117.238798) — and then walk to the library.
