From the Kühtai ski area, you'll make an adventurous ascend up the mountain ridge of Gaiskogel. More commonly, this location is known for skiing and snowboarding, but as a photo spot, it shouldn't be overlooked. You're surrounded by incredible peaks and one in particular, Tschirgant, makes for a stand-out image.

This image of Tschirgant was taken from the north ridge up to Gaiskogel. There are a few ways to climb Gaiskogel, but for these particular directions, I'll describe the way up the north ridge. If you choose to take the lift (47.216144, 11.031236), you'll want to purchase a ticket (about 15 EUR) and then get off on the Gaiskogellift line. Whatever you choose, always check the conditions before and make sure it's safe.
The only way to get to this location is by car and you must have snowboarding or skiing experience in order to make the trip. If you don't feel as comfortable hiking to this location on your own, I recommend hiring a mountain guide — this hike is not for beginners!
First, you'll begin your journey on the A12. Take exit Kematen in the direction Kühtai, past the galleries on the Sellrainstrasse.
I parked about 500m pass the little village of Haggen. Note: If you use the lift up the mountain in the village Kühtai, there are enough parking spaces there. In my opinion, the best choice for parking is to to find a spot in a carpark near the Gaiskogellift (47.216314, 11.031418).
We stopped about 200 meters below the summit (reference the GPS coordinates) of Gaiskogel and then took some photos of Tschirgant, which will be to west.
