Bonneville Salt Flats (summer)

avatar
@avecnicole
Experiencing the Bonneville Salt Flats is like visiting another planet! The largest of the salt flats west of the Great Salt Lake, its crusts form unique patterns that shine in the light. Definitely one of my favorite places in Utah.

This image is of the Bonneville Salt Flats, which can be easily accessed from the I-80 West Bound Rest Stop, about 1.5 hours away from Salt Lake City. For this view, park your car and simply step out onto the craters in front of you! If you're looking for water and there isn't on the flats at the rest stop, you can follow the road and turn right onto the Speedyway to driver deeper into the flats.
