Visible from miles away, this imposing Hindu Temple rises like a golden mirage at the end of Soi 2 Street. As the golden hues catch the light, the figure seems to guard over the daily dance of life below—hanging cables, cars, children playing on the street. A very rare spot, where art and life intersect, this spot combines the monumental and the mundane.

Lord Shiva’s Vihara is an unmissable landmark in the area, around 45 minutes northeast of Bangkok's city center.
You'll need a car to get there. I strongly recommend hiring a cab and negotiating a price with the driver so that he waits by the temple to take you back to Bangkok. If that's not possible, you can still find some cabs or order a Grab to return to Bangkok.
For this perspective, I stood in the middle of Soi 2 Street, facing north towards the landmark, so that I could center Lord Shiva's Vihara.
