When to go
You can photograph this level 3, lobby H view of the Jewel waterfall year round.
During blue hour, you'll be able to get the best of both worlds, meaning that the mall will be light up as the sky begins to darken, but there'll still be some after burn from the sunset in the background.
You can also capture the light trails on the train tracks just beside the mall at blue hour.
Field tips
Make sure to use a wide-angle lens so that you incorporate the greenery into your shot. The color, as well as the texture, of the plants will create a nice juxtaposition against the modern architecture.
I wanted to stand on level 3 so I could photograph the top level of the pathways, too. If you were to stand on the highest platform, you'd miss an opportunity to shoot above and below you and you'd only have the option to shoot below.
Add a sense of scale to your photo by shooting a busy scene with many visitors. The waterfall stands at 130 feet, so the inclusion of subjects walking by will enhance the massive structure.
