From this location you can capture a very clustered, yet well organized, view of Singapore skyline’s diverse architecture. Kudos to the urban planners! You can also capture super vibrant gradients in the sky!

This location is on the pavement between the The Float@Marina Bay and Grandstand. I stood to the right side of The Float@Marina Bay and faced the skyline.
By MRT:
- Closest MRT Station: Promenade (Circle Line and Downtown Line)
- Take exit “A” to Temasek Ave. towards Raffles Ave.
- Turn right on Raffles Ave. and you should the Float@Marina Bay on your left

Sunset
All months of the year are suitable to photograph the Singapore skyline from the Float@Marina Bay area. Sometimes there are events in the area so it may be a bit busy with people!
Visit at sunset because the sun sets behind the skyline creating incredible light and gradients. The building lights typically pop on right before the sun drops creating an additional powerful effect – so don’t rush off too soon!
Field tips
To capture the clustered skyline you’ll have to either zoom or crop out some of the buildings to the left, which look awkwardly alone.
I balanced the ratio of the water, buildings and the sky. Play with the ratios depending on your personal preference.
If the sky has emotion with fast moving clouds, take a long exposure to give more depth to the skyline.
During New Year’s countdown fireworks float on the water, so when the countdown happens, you can capture the light trails with the skyline in the background. It gets busy so go a few hours early to secure your spot!
