This image was taken on the outside of Qatar National Library. To get here, it's best to drive or take a car, but you can also take public transportation (Qatar National Library via Green Line). For either option, input the "Qatar National Library" into the car's GPS and you'll arrive at the building.
When you arrive to the library, reference the GPS coordinates and you'll find the exact point where I stood to get this perspective of the architecture.
Note: If you want to go inside the library, you'll need permission to take photos in this building, so contact the library before your visit: https://www.qnl.qa/en.
Tips
When to go
Best season
All months
Best time
Morning, Mid-day, Late afternoon
The exterior of the Qatar National Library will not change with the seasons, therefore you can capture a similar shot year round.
I recommend visiting when there is adequate sunlight so you can see (and photograph) every detail of the building.
Field tips
This area is especially sunny—take a pair of sunglasses with you!
A wide-angle lens (15mm) will give you the opportunity to photograph the entire building. If your lens is too narrow, you'll cut off key elements of the image.
Symmetry is probably the most important thing in this photo. Ensure you and your model are aligned with the middle of the pointed architecture so you can create a well-balanced image.
Having a model in your frame will add a sense of scale, so bring along a friend and have them stand in the center of the photo.

Head into the library to explore their collection of over one million books. It's also an excellent photo location spot—just make sure to get permission ahead of time to shoot there.
Due to the library being located in Education City, you can walk to museums, cafes, university campuses, botanical gardens and more!
