Corniche Promenade view of Dhow Harbour & Doha Skyline

This image of the Dhow Harbor and Doha Skyline was taken from the Corniche Promenade. You can access this location by taking a cab, driving a car or riding on public transportation. Reference the GPS coordinates along the Corniche Promenade and you'll see the exact place where I stood to get this north-facing view of the harbour and skyline. If you're driving, I recommend parking in the MIA Parking lot (25.293013, 51.541027). There is an ample amount of free parking that's available for those with cars under the MIA and in the MIA park, which is next to MIA. There are also complimentary golf carts that will shuttle visitors from and around the MIA park to MIA.

You can experience the Doha skyline from Dhow Harbour during any month of the year.

The city skyline will glow with different hues of colors at sunset.

This can be a busy area. Be aware of your surroundings and keep the movement of the boats in mind when you shoot.

Don't limit yourself to this exact perspective. Walk along the river promenade to find your sweet spot and see what viewpoint you like best.

Shooting with a wider angle (24mm) will allow you to capture the museum in your frame. A lens that's more narrow will crop out certain elements of the photo that are key to the composition.

In my opinion, the colors of the sky are the star of this photo. Make sure you're photographing a slightly higher angle so you can incorporate as much of the sky as possible in your shot.

The Museum of Islamic Art is within walking distance of this lookout spot. The space is renowned for its impressive art collection and visitors from all over the world come to marvel at its treasures. Within minutes of walking through the space, you'll be able to experience hundreds of years of history—take it all in and seize the moment!
