Face Rock State Scenic Viewpoint

avatar
@andrewstuder
Off the coast, the aptly-named Face Rock looms out of the water, but the humongous sea stack rock formations along the tideline are the real attraction here. Take a walk along the sand on this unique beach, where the rocks jut dramatically out of the earth like giant shards of glass.

This photo was taken of the beach below the Face Rock State Scenic Viewpoint, looking out towards the sea stacks and Face Rock. To get here, navigate to the Face Rock State Scenic Viewpoint parking lot (43.105184, -124.434303). From the parking lot, there is a clear path that leads to a short section of stairs down to the beach. From here, walk south along the beach until you pass the large house on the bluff above. You should see a big batch of dramatic sea stacks. I positioned myself slightly south of these rocks, and faced my camera northwest towards Face Rock. Directions from Bandon: - Head west on US-101 S/2nd St SE - Turn right onto 11th St SW - Turn left onto Beach Loop Rd - Turn right onto Face Rock Viewpoint - Park and head down to the beach
