Nagaokakyo Shinto Shrine

avatar
@yuma1983
An exceptional tree near the Shinto Shrine covers the ground in a sea of red leaves every fall. The fresh crimson landscape transforms the Shinto Shrine, providing an elevated perspective of the archway and stone steps in Nagaokakyo, Kyoto.

This image was taken in front of the Shinto Shrine (鎮守社 熊野宮) in Nagaokakyo, Kyoto. The best way to get to this location is to drive and then park in the nearby lot, Komyoji Rinji Parking Lot (光明寺臨時駐車場), located right off Tanbakaido Street. Reference the GPS coordinates from the parking lot and make your way toward your destination, which will be southwest. Before visiting this location, please note that after parking you'll have a 10-minute "hike" to the shrine.
