Hidden in the depths of Tuscany, like a secret gem straight out of a fantasy film, are the Cascate del Mulino Saturnia Hot Springs. These cascading thermal waterfalls and pools offer a natural spa experience that's both surreal and soothing, much like stepping into a real-life Rivendell from "The Lord of the Rings."
The water, naturally heated and mineral-rich, tumbles over rock formations into inviting turquoise pools. Immersing yourself in these warm waters while surrounded by Italy's picturesque landscape is an experience right out of an idyllic Hayao Miyazaki animation. It's a testament to the fact that sometimes, the most extraordinary experiences are tucked away in nature's pockets.

This photo is of the Cascate del Mulino Saturnian Hot Springs in the Tuscany countryside. You can fly your drone above from outside the springs.
Starting your journey from Rome, the easiest way to reach Cascate del Mulino Saturnia is by car—it's a scenic three-hour drive. Head north on the A12 highway and continue onto E80.
After 115 kilometers, take exit Aurelia towards Grosseto. From Grosseto, follow signs for Manciano and then Saturnia. Once in Saturnia, the hot springs are just a short drive away. As you approach, you'll spot the steam rising from the cascades—like an enchanted location from a whimsical "Narnia" scene.
