There's nothing quite like a dark, rainy evening in downtown Chicago — warm, glowing street lamps reflect off the rain-dampened pavement while the vibrant, theater-district marquees contrast against the inky night sky. It's one of the best places in the world for unique street photography!

This photo of downtown Chicago at night was taken looking west down Randolph Street, from the intersection of Randolph St & Dearborn St.
To get this image, I stood on one of the raised pedestrian sidewalks that are in the middle of the intersection, directly in front of Petterino's restaurant. Then, I faced my camera west down Randolph Street towards the famous Cadillac Palace Theatre marquee sign.
By bus:
- Closest station: Dearborn & Randolph (Line 22, 24, 36, 62)
- Walk south on Dearborn St until you reach Randolph St
- Turn right on Randolph St.
- Petterino's and the raised crosswalk will but directly on your right
