One of the most futuristic look-ups in the country — and definitely in Chicago. Light reflects everywhere from the ceiling, beaming from one surface to the next as people weave in and out of the busy lobby floor below. Since this building is connected to a train station, it also serves as one of the most accessible photo locations in the whole city.

This photo was taken on the lobby level of the James R. Thompson Center, looking directly up toward the ceiling.
If you're taking the train, get off on Clark/Lake (via Blue, Brown, Green, Orange, Pink or Purple Line).
Exit the station and then make your way to the center of the building (the train will connect to the inside of the building). Head to the lobby and then look up and start composing.
Make sure to stay on the lobby level. If you go to the food court below, you can shoot a lookup from there, but it won't be as open since it'll be from the ground level.
