The featured image is of Hong Keung Street taken from the intersection of Hong Keung St and Tseuk Luk St. The easiest way to arrive is by bus as there is no close MTR station. It is an area bounded by Choi Hung Road and Prince Edward Road East.
The bus list is extremely extensive from both Hong Kong Island and Kowloon side. The closest names of the stop would be "The Latitude" or "Ning Yuen Street". The street is also just around the corner from a shopping mall called Mikiki, so you can always check out their website for directions or even get a taxi directly to Mikiki.
By MTR Station:
- Closest MTR Station: Diamond Hill (Kwun Tong Line)
- Take Exit "B"
- Walk towards Tai Yau Street for 20 minutes

When to go
Best season
All months
Best time
Mid-day, Late afternoon
Visit any month that you wish! You can get bright sunny summer shots or even moody shots during the winter months, too.
It’s best to visit mid-day or late-afternoon when the sun is hitting the streets. The right light will give great angles and add depth to your photos.
Field tips
Be aware of your surroundings, especially if you’re standing in the middle of the road like I did. Even though it was a quiet day, cars were coming from behind me so I had a friend keep an eye out.
I used my 27-70mm go-to lens but a 35mm/50mm/85mm would also work great for the streets!
There are long stretches of old buildings and in this particular shot, I framed it at a certain angle so you can see the side of the pink building, the yellow sign and especially the line of minibuses. Get creative with your own perspective!
