Pedestrian Stairway to Stadtbibliothek (Handwerkskammer) Station

This image was taken inside the underground subway station of Stadtbibliothek (Handwerkskammer), looking up onto the pedestrian stairs that lead to the ground level at the northwest corner of Türlenstraße and Heilbronner Str. To get to this location, I recommend taking the subway to the Stadtbibliothek (Handwerkskammer) station (via U5, U6, U7 or U15 Lines) and then walking up the steps.

As long as it's not snowing or raining, you can photograph a similar scene at the pedestrian stairway to Stadtbibliothek (Handwerkskammer) during any month of the year.

Morning, midday and late afternoon is when the exterior light will shine through the circular entrance.

Shooting with a wide-angle lens will allow you to incorporate the whole scene — especially the interesting ceiling patterns in the subway station.

Having a model in your shot will not only add a sense of character, it'll also create a sense of scale and symmetry as they walk up the center of the stairs.

Try using the rule of thirds here, with the circular entrance in the top third, your model in the middle and the stairs in the bottom third.

Walk around and explore the area! Just north of this location, there's a well-known cemetery called Pragfriedhof or there are many restaurants, like the popular burger joint, Hans Im Glück.
