If you're traveling to West Germany, don't miss out on the charming village of Monschau. It's located right next to the border of Belgium, so while you'll still be able to capture German architecture, you'll also see the Belgian influences in the cafes, restaurants and farm houses.

The image was taken on the bridge over the Roer River with a view of the village cottages and Panoramaweg observation deck.
To get to this bridge, park in one of the many parking lots in the town of Monschau, then walk toward the city center and find the Evangelische Stadtkirche Monschau church (50.554557, 6.241006). The bridge will be directly east of the church and I stood facing north to get this view. Reference Google Maps in Satellite Mode to see the bridge.
