Rainbow Building Façade

This close-up image of the rainbow was taken looking east onto the residential building along Möllendorffstraße. Simply reference the GPS coordinates in satellite mode.

The close-up image of the rainbow building can be photographed year round, but to capture the greenery in your image (like I have in my shot), visit in the late spring, summer and early fall.

The best times to capture similar lighting conditions would be around midday or late afternoon when the sunlight will produce nice shadows along the building.

I recommend using a wide-angle lens (14mm) to capture the length of the building's walls and rainbow.

Try using the rule of thirds for your composition. Place the grass and model in the first third of your frame and then utilize the building's grid-like architecture to align the top two-thirds of the shot.

For an unexpected focal point, as well as a way to emphasize scale, try incorporating a model in your image.

Play with light and shadows of the building. There are two apartments with this rainbow design, so I suggest experimenting with different angles at each of the buildings.

Visit the nearby Fennpfuhl, which is an urban park, for a nice stroll around a small lake.
