Münzstraße 21 Courtyard view of Father Carpenter, Tommy Hilfiger & New Balance

This image was taken in the courtyard of Wunderschöner Innenhof, Tommy Hilfiger, Father Carpenter & New Balance at Münzstraße 21 in the Mitte district. Enter the New Balance store through Münzstraße and walk straight back (south) to the courtyard. I stood facing north, toward the New Balance store to get this perspective of the courtyard. By subway: - Closest station: U Weinmeisterstraße (via U8 line) - Head southwest on Alte Schönhauser Str. toward Weinmeisterstraße - Turn left onto Münzstraße and the destination will be on your right

The spring, summer and early fall months are the most suitable to photograph the Wunderschöner Innenhof, Father Carpenter and New Balance courtyard. The winter months will be cold, dark and the bushes won't be in full bloom.

Visit this courtyard during the day to get the best natural light.

I took this photo with an iPhone, but if you're using a camera, bring along a wide-angle lens to incorporate as much of the courtyard and building into your frame.

Look for the lines of the building and try to keep them as straight as possible for a centered photo.

In post-processing, straighten the lines of the architecture to get a nice effect, as if you're looking right into the building.

I recommend going to the second backyard, behind this one, where you can still see some bullet holes from World War II.
