Dent du Géant

avatar
@scottkranz
Spanning over two countries is the prestigious mountain range, Mont Blanc Massif, where visitors flock year long to see 360-degree views of staggering peaks. In the summer, the French/Italian region is even more photogenic and the singe summit of Dent du Géant stands tall in all its post-winter glory.

This photo was taken on the lookout point of Pointe Helbronner, with a north-facing view of Dent du Géant. This location is actually on the border of France and Italy and for the easiest access, I recommend starting your journey in the Italian towns of either Entreves or Courmayeur — although you can reach this lookout by starting in France, too. After reaching Entreves or Courmayeur, take the Skyway Monte Bianco (previously the Funivia Monte Bianco) cable car up to Pointe Helbronner. From there, there will be a viewpoint platform where you'll be able to position yourself north to see this view of Dent du Géant.
