Want to get close to a Finnish fell? In Kesänkijärvi, you will have beautiful light accompanying you. Many photographers visit this special place all year round but I think in winter, it's particularly magical—you can capture the huge ice-covered lake with the Ylläsjärvi majestic fell in the distance.

This photo was taken in Kesänkijärvi, located in Kolari, Finland. If you put the GPS coordinates into your navigator, it should be straightforward to get to. I recommend following the GPS coordinates to Kesänkijärvi Parking Lot (67.602869, 24.221170).
To get there by car from Kolari, take Route 940 in the direction of Nililahentie until you reach Route 9401. Turn right into Route 9401, left into Nililahentie, right into Kesänkijärventie, and left into Hankinnantie. You will see the parking lot in front of you.
Once you're there, you will see a path leading you to the snow-covered lake—you can't miss it. It's only a short walk until you reach the spot and you will see Ylläsjärvi in the distance.
