The Norwich Cathedral was built in the 11th-century and since then, the Romanesque-style house of worship has drawn visitors from all over the world to experience the overwhelming serenity of the grand church.

This image was taken from the main cathedral entrance of Norwich Cathedral. For an elevated view, I took this shot on the stairs to get as much in the frame as possible. Reference the GPS coordinate to find this exact vantage point. If you're driving, you can park in the public lot nearby called RCP Parking (52.630612, 1.303241). Alternatively, you can also take public transportation. By public transportation: - Closest station: Norwich (via EMR or greateranglia) - Head northeast - Turn left toward Riverside/A147 - Turn right onto Riverside/A147 - Turn left onto Foundry Bridge/Prince of Wales Rd and then continue to follow Prince of Wales Rd - Turn right onto St Faiths Ln - Slight right toward Horsefair Loke - Continue onto Horsefair Loke and the destination will be on the left For more information on visiting, check out the cathedral's website: https://www.cathedral.org.uk/visit/things-to-see-and-do

Tips

When to go

Best season

All months

Best time

Morning, Mid-day, Late afternoon
As long as it's open, you can photograph the interior of Norwich Cathedral during any month.
The light will pour in through the windows, creating a naturally illuminated space during the morning, midday and late afternoon.

Field tips

With so many leading lines (e.g. the chairs, the ceiling, the sides of the cathedral), it's important to stand in the middle of the room so you can create a sense of symmetry. When the image is symmetrical, it'll be more aesthetically pleasing.
A wide-angle lens (18mm) will be useful to capture the entirety of the space.
The architecture is the star here, so wait until the room is completely empty. If there's anyone in your shot, it could be a distraction from the intricacies of the structure.
