This image was taken inside Biddy's Tea Room, which is located on a small street called Lower Goat Lane in Norwich. You can either take a car or public transportation to get here. I took this photo from the opposite side of the counter. Once you walk in, you'll see the loose-leaf tea jars. By public transportation: - Closest station: Norwich (via EMR or greateranglia) - Head northeast - Turn left toward Riverside/A147 - Turn right onto Riverside/A147 - Turn left onto Foundry Bridge/Prince of Wales Rd and continue to follow Prince of Wales Rd - Continue onto Agricultural Hall Plain - Slight right onto Castle Meadow - Slight right onto Opie St - Turn left onto London St - Turn right onto Bedford St - Continue onto Lobster Ln - Continue onto Pottergate - Turn left onto Lower Goat Ln and the destination will be on your left Address: Biddy's Tea Room 15 Lower Goat Ln, Norwich NR2 1EL, United Kingdom

Tips

When to go

Best season

All months

Best time

Morning, Mid-day, Late afternoon
The interior of Biddy's Tea Room can be photographed during any month.
The dark interior looks best when it's illuminated, so the morning, midday and late afternoon are the best times of the day to shoot here. If you want to avoid the larger crowds, I suggest skipping lunchtime when it's busiest.

Field tips

The room isn't very big, so having a wide-angle lens (21.4) will help make the space feel bigger.
If you incorporate the window in your image, there's a chance there'll be too much light in your shot. Try positioning yourself so you only feature the very edge of the window.
Although having a person in your shot can add a human element to the tea house, I recommend shooting this scene without anyone in it so they don't distract from the interior.

Do nearby

After you're finished shooting, relax in the cafe for afternoon tea with scones or a slice of cake.
Norwich is a great city to explore on foot and all the little lanes lined with independent shops and cafes are really lovely.
